bacuses you're not supposed to modify the index itself
https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui-extensions?tab=readme-ov-file#step-by-step-instructions

  • Don't edit the index.json directly and don't modify any other files unless you have a special reason.

you should only modify extensions/SD-PPP.json
