I have two computers, and I use one in day time, and another in night.
I would like the reading progress(the last page number of a book) can by synchronized between these computers.
Describe the solution you'd like
I install OneDrive and put pdf in OneDrive to sync books, and I need to sync the reading progress as well.
Currently, the progress is saved per system.
I would like to change it to an option: per system / per folder / per file
per system: old way
per folder: the progress file is saved in the same folder with pdf file wich a fixed file name: progress.json
per file: the progress file is saved in the same folder with pdf file with a similar file name to pdf file. for example, if the pdf is 123.pdf, then the progress file is 123.pdf.progress
the detail behaviour:
when reading a progress, try per file progree first, per folder progress second, and per system progress last.
when reading a pdf, if the progress is loaded from system, then there should be a button or something else can be set to per folder/per file.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I used to use the same folder for OneDrive and put portable sumatrapdf in OneDrive, plus some registry modification to associate pdf file to the program. It works fine.
But sometimes OneDrive is installed on different path

SumatraPDF settings are not all that easily transferable between devices, so you have several problems to overcome.
Personally I found the easiest is use an external drive like a thumb drive or portable disk drive (1TB is usually easily filled !)
Using One drive is generally to be avoided as have lost weeks of corporate work due to flaky file handling. (lockout / team deleted or mis-synchronised changes).
by assigning a common shared drive name even another computer is preferable to a synchronised one.
what I have done in the past is export a current work setting file to be transferred and ensure the drives at each location are both shared as S:\ (shared) or v:\ (virtual) so currently my v:\ drive is other side of this room on a notebook and s:\ is an external share also over there !
