If NGboost is a decision tree based method how can it predict negative values when trained exclusively on positive data?

I typically use a random forest to learn on data in the interval [0,1]. The Random forest cannot predict outside this interval. I tried NGBoost as a drop-in replacement and it predicted negative locations for the centre's of its predictive distributions?
