What's wrong?

v0.197.0

  1. Turning MUX to Ultimate and locked my disk :/ So I did need to type in bitlocker key. I didn't even know it was on. I expected this to work same as in Asus app - seamlessly with one restart.
  2. Update shows two updates, when done and restarted it still shows as not done (red). Chipset: ICSS_DCH_Intel_Z_V2.1.10102.0002Sub5_33290.exe and audio: DolbyAPOdriver_DCH_Dolby_Z_V8.426.1225.36_34052.exe

How to reproduce the bug?

Change Standard to Ultimate, reboot (I suppose You need Bitlocker enabled)

I did find and installed this app as I hoped it may give some solution to my power management problems as when OLED screensaver is auto-enabled it turns fans to full speed and stay enabled full speed until rebooted.

@PawDD hello,

I guess Asus has implemented MUX switch in that way that it needs bitlocker to be turned off (temporarily or permanently). Check other duplicate issue #2346 of someone explaining similar behaviour. As on other (ROG, TUF, etc) models MUX doesn’t trigger it.

If you use MUX often- I would just turn bitlocker off on your device.

G-Helper is not able to affect it, and I’m not a fan of adding forced bit locker deactivation in the app as it will made all this machine learning based antivirus algorithms going absolutely crazy about app then.

As for Updates checker, it just shows you a mirror of an Asus website with drivers for your specific model and compares versions with ones locally installed on your system.

I see that Intel Context Sensing driver installed has version 1.x while one reported online says - it’s 2.x

Most probably Asus is just reporting incorrect version on their website. If you have downloaded and installed it once - you are already good, and can just ignore that.

Thanks

Most likely Asus app disables bitlocker temporarily, as I never did anything bitlocker related. I do use MUX as sometimes I need to be more power efficient working remotely. Now that I'm aware how bitlocker works I don't want it to be disabled permanently due to safety reasons. @seerge just consider the issue and how nerve wrecking is the experience of rebooting and getting that blue screen. If you don't want or can't implement managing bitlocker safely I think there should be at least a warning in app "You may need to know Your bitlocker key". Thanks

@PawDD I may add a warning, but only for devices that are 100% known to have this issue.

I.e. your ProArt H7604 and Zenbook Pro 14 6404.

I just don't understand why Asus has decided to do it like this in some (rare) cases, while in all popular models like ROG G14, G16, any TUF etc - it works as is :)
