Start recording before the beep

It's easier to say "Athena, what's the weather?", rather than "Athena... double beep what's the weather?"

Nice one, siri does the same thing that you are asking, you can just say "hey siri, what is the weather" without wait for beep (used to be though). However, siri "wake word" recognition is more effective and accurate. If you are able to make Athena's wake word detection to be more accurate and faster (better mic and more efficient code) then you can skip the double beep with ease. Otherwise, you won't know when Athena is responding and when she isn't.
