Describe the bug
When translating text into Spanish using Foliate, the previously translated text overlaps with the new translation. This creates a layering effect where both the old and new translations are shown simultaneously, making it difficult to read the most recent translation. The issue is present when translating multiple texts in sequence, as the old translation does not get cleared properly before displaying the new one.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Foliate and load any ebook.
  2. Select some text and translate it into Spanish using the translation feature.
  3. Select a different portion of text and translate it again into Spanish.
  4. Observe that the old translation overlaps with the new translation.

Expected behavior
Each new translation should replace the previous one entirely, without any overlap or residual text from earlier translations.

Does this still happen after 02c5727?

I did a quick git clone and ran it. The problem still appears.

I can't seem to reproduce. Does it happen when you do Wikipedia or Wiktionary look up?

Hmm, if I click twice to search on Wikipedia, the error doesn’t occur. But if I click on Wikipedia and then on Dictionary, it happens as shown in the image.

Hmm. In that case it must be a GTK and/or WebKitGTK bug because the Wikipedia page and the Dictionary page are two different HTML pages.
