Checklist

  • I have filled out the template to the best of my ability.
  • This only contains 1 feature request (if you have multiple feature requests, open one feature request for each feature request).
  • This issue is not a duplicate feature request of previous feature requests.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I want to measure both the duration of when something is occurring as well as the count. To do this I have to make 2 seperate measureit integrations, each with the same template inside.

Describe the solution you'd like

Add a checkbox when creating a time counter that says "Create a counter as well" or something. When checked, a counter will be created alongside the timer for each of the periods that have already been selected

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Make 2 seperate measureit integrations
  • Create a new template sensor that counts up when the timer starts increasing

Additional context

As a use case. I have a binary sensor setup that reports when I am on my motorcycle. I'd like a counter for the amount of times this sensor has turned on and a timer that measures how long I've been on the motorcycle.
