Having an option to choose different patterns like:

  • random colors (currently used)
  • puzzle games (like sudoku grid, kenken, etc)
  • alternating checkboxes (seen in chess/checkers)
  • random & checkboxes

Aim: blend in, & camouflage.

#22 will help in remembering with such otherwise uniform patterns

to add more nuances to pattern, one way can be to use the current random pattern in black cells in one half, and in white in other half.

More skins to apply to board. Chess skin or other meaning skins...

Skins must have a file, like chess.skn.

Sounds pretty cool. I have to think about this and how to implement it.
My initial thought is to first focus on a stable initial release and implement some bigger features like this one afterwards.

I image fun skins like pixelled landscapes. For example a skin with mountains, rivers, bridges and trees to show a key pattern only who has this skin.

ahww, now i understood this... so, like - it would work on selecting/applying the skin file to the pattern

wowww, neat idea indeed - though requires quite lot more maintenance (protection and rememberance) on the users side....
