  1. The name of each project is hard to read for users who are not familiar with GitHub
  2. Project descriptions are often too developer-oriented, mentioning technologies and languages that are built on instead of what the project does. This could be improved by prompting the user submitting a new project to add clearer and more user-friendly descriptions.

Our main problem right now is to get projects to sign up and add theirs.
That said the flow for them needs to be as stream lined and as fast as possible.

Right now the only thing they have to do is add a badge to their readme - and we will automatically scan the project and add it to our database – fully automated.

That means of course – we will take the content of their files and display that. There is currently no way to edit anything on our end (and also 0 interest from the projects right now)

Which leads me to another hypothesis:
I would love to have designers being confronted with GitHub terminology and style. While it might be hard to read a project's name - I think it is VERY beneficial for them in the long term. I would like to have some of these subtle nuanced things where we can make sure to bring both worlds closer together "by speaking the same language"

This is a valid concern. We’ve seen cases where project information can either feel underwhelming or overwhelming to designers, making it harder for them to engage.

That said, I also think it’s crucial to keep the project addition process simple and streamlined, without requiring extra effort from developers on our end.

One idea for the future could be implementing a mechanism to auto-generate brief, engaging descriptions. For example, we could leverage a free LLM to process the provided project data and return a designer-friendly description. This approach would help maintain a straightforward project submission flow while giving us better content to inform and attract designers in areas like the Projects Directory or individual project pages.
