Describe the bug

My GPU's sensors have stopped being recognized a couple of days ago, likely due to updating my drivers.
I installed the newest driver version from AMD (24.12.1) and have been experiencing issues since.

Is there a log.txt file next to FanControl.exe with recent date entries?

You may try a "Full install" of the driver. That fixed it for some users in the past.

I also have an AMD RX 7900 GRE GPU on Win11 and second this problem after updating to the 24.12.1 driver update. Using the Full Install option has made no change.

I have an AMD RX 7900 XTX running on Windows 11 Pro Build 26100 and am experiencing the same issue. I believe this is caused by a Windows update rather than a driver problem. I tried using DDU to reinstall the latest 24.12.1 driver, but it didn’t resolve the issue. Currently, I’m using the HWiNFO plugin to monitor the hotspot temperature sensor, but I have to manually select the sensor every time my computer starts.

Same issue aswell, I had to pause Windows updates because it kept overriding my Adrenalin software too. I think we have to just wait for Windows to fix this unfortunately.

Same issue here since adrenalin 24.12.1 (full install) update for my RX 7800XT .
No GPU temp or GPU hotspot are available with this driver version .

I'm on 24.12.1, and ADLX works just fine:

Are you testing on Windows 11 (pro)? Also, it may be only an issue on the higher end GPUs (7900, 7800), seeing as those are the models people commenting are mentioning.

Yes on latest W11 build. Might be something in the driver that is bugged for these specific GPUs, on my end its the exact same interface for all GPUs anyway, I don't make any distinction.

I am on Win 11 Pro, on the beta channel. I wonder if that's whats doing it?

I just wanted to chime in that this is happening on 4 of our PCs here all AMD based, the nvidia ones seem fine. All Win 11 Pro. Models that no longer work are 6900XT, 7800XT, 6750XT and a 7600.

Perhaps it has something to do with Windows 11 Pro specifically? Don't know what it could be since Pro and Home are very similar, though

Problem solved for myself . It was a windows update issue ... It replaced the drivers with a weird AMD version automatically after a DDU cleaning, even if I have deactivated the automatic drivers download in the system properties .
I solved the problem by performing a DDU cleaning in safe mode, rebooting with my PC physically disconnected from network, instaling the latest AMD drivers . After that, the GPU temp and hotspot temp were back in the temperatur source menu in fan control.

Welp that did it. DDU and and a clean install of the drivers. I did add in a GPO for blocking driver installs. I'm not sure if I like it, but it should stop graphics drivers updating randomly.

win+r --> gpedit.msc --> Computer Configuration --> Windows Templates --> Windows Components --> Windows Update --> Manage updates offered from Windows Update --> Do not include drivers with Windows Update --> Enabled

reboot
