Timeline editor for prompts

Has anyone thought of making a prompt editor in the style of a timeline interface used in animation and music editing?

Imagine the X-axis representing steps (either relative or absolute), and each row being a chunk of text that can be edited and slid along the timeline. Not only could you get a better representation of when you want certain prompts to kick in, you could also potentially adjust the weight similar to how you would adjust the volume of a track - maybe even make curves to interpolate between values.

This could either be implemented in the Web UI, or run separately in a program that exports the prompt as a text file that you then just have to paste into the textbox.
