How to update??

I have to delete my automatic1111 folder every time??

If you're doing it manually, yes.

Otherwise, you can use git.

To install you use
git clone https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui
Keep in mind it will create a stable-diffusion-webui folder. So you want to use this command one folder bellow where you want to install it to.

Then to update you go into the folder you installed it to and use:
git pull

I install with git, but i want to update to get new features, like textual inversion training...
I have to delete the folder and clone again?? there is no way to update?

Open your command prompt, go to the folder you installed it and use git pull

You don't have to delete anything when using git pull.

after git pull, Already up to date. but my version still v1.4.0-RC-1483-gcf2772fa, not v1.7.0

It is okay. If you want it to automatically update, you can edit your webui-user.bat file so it looks like:

@echo off

set PYTHON=
set GIT=
set VENV_DIR=
set COMMANDLINE_ARGS=

call git pull
call webui.bat

This way every time you run it through webui-user, it will automatically update.

I did a git pull but now I'm getting an error: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'safetensors', seems like the dependencies has changed so git pull alone is not enought to update without removing the venv and modules folder

running venv\python.exe -m pip install -r requirements.txt fixed the issue

Who has this error after the git pull command.
error: Pulling is not possible because you have unmerged files.
hint: Fix them up in the work tree, and then use 'git add/rm '.
hint: as appropriate to mark resolution and make a commit.
fatal: Exiting because of an unresolved conflict.

Run this command git reset --hard HEAD It should help...... has helped me personally.

Read up a bit on how git works. It's annoying sometimes, but it's not too complex.
