Stable Diffusion WebUI is pretty solid, but unfortunately it's authentication capability appear to start and end with the
--gradio-auth
parameter. I would like to suggest the inclusion of a proper authentication and access control, similar to what Ollama's Open WebUI uses, where multiple accounts could be made, permissions could be given based on user (or even by role/group), making it more feasible to share on a LAN or even WAN.This would, of course, require an authenticated session to change settings or start/stop image generation, and I'm sure more as it is further fleshed out. That said, it would be a fantastic quality-of-life option if one or more people wanted to use the system remotely. Currently with its lack of robust authentication and account management, I would never make it public facing, let alone would I really find it safe to put on a large LAN.
If anyone has any input to further refine this suggestion, please feel free to chime in.
Thanks for reading and your consideration with providing better security for SD-WebUI!
