X/Y/Z Plot help

Any way i can make it not save as a grid? If not i would suggest implementing it. I've never had a use for a grid in the 2 years i've used SD, it's a super specific usage (comparing images). I bet i'm not alone in not having a use for that at all. First thing i turn off. For X/Y/Z Plot to be only about comparing seems like a real waste since it's so powerful.

Edit: another thing, if this is started its impossible to use the Interrupt function. An immensely large grid of my 2048x2048 generations seems to be something that would just take forever, it's quicker to restart the entire web ui than to click interrupt.

No. Ticking it or unticking it, the grid will be generated. It has nothing to do with not generating a grid.

Generating this grid for only 30'ish 2048x2048 images takes at least 30 mins (i always just restart the webui when it starts doing it, so i don't know how long it takes, maybe even longer!), and all i do with it is delete it. So it's useless, a total time waste. Sometimes i create 300 images. it would take me a day of waiting, and likely the computer would run out of memory long before that. it has done that once, and i had to restart the computer. it really messed up my 3090 or windows or the CPU, logging out/in didn't even help.

It's a SUPER specific use case where someone would want this grid.

The Interrupt garbage is worse than ever in the WebUI after they added that "press again" (SKIP) too, rarely does it work for me. it can work as long as you're doing 1-5 images in a batch...

are you saying that stable diffusion image generation takes a reasonable amount of time but after all images are generated "stitching" together the 30'ish 2048x2048 images takes more then 30 mins?
that's very weird it shouldn't take that long
for reference on my sysyem "stitching" together 36 2048x2048 images in a 6x6 grid takes less then 10 seconds

I feel like you're using XYZ plot script as a task queuing system which is isn't what it's designed for
can you explain your use case, what specifically are you using XYZ plot for?

maybe some improvements can be done when dealing with large grids but comparing different parameters is its primary use case

yup, it takes forever, i've finished it "by mistake" when i've done other stuff, but waiting for it, yes it takes absolutely forever. this on a new (2023) CPU and a fast SSD.

Maybe i am not who's it designed for, but i mean, can it be that difficult to not have it do the grid for when you just want to generate a bunch of image variations? Which it of course does really well + a good and easy interface for it as well (which is NOT an easy find among addons, usually).

For me i batch generate img-img with it, with 3 different settings, and i sort out the ones that happened to be generated in a way i liked.
Typically i recreate game textures for old games.
