Horizontal tiling request

Would it be possible to add a way for tiling to work only horizontally or vertically?

Yes, really needed for 360° panorama production
here my 360° examples Donald and Tron - 360s

I could workaround it by splitting vertically and reassemble both parts.
Tiling should be possible to be horiz xor vertical only, seen that in a Blender-SD-Integration for textures.

In the code I have only found "centric" or "none" for tiling. HAvent digged too deep in the specs.
