load checkpoint from BLIP/model_base_caption_capfilt_large.pth is so slow

I use this command to launch stable diffusion webui

!COMMANDLINE_ARGS="--medvram --opt-split-attention --port 6006 --share --gradio-debug" REQS_FILE="requirements.txt" python launch.py

When I use BLIP for caption, it is so slow(about 90kiB/s my gpu is rtx4090) to load model_base_caption_capfilt_large.pth


How to fix this?

This does not seem to be loading but downloading, you can try to manually download and place it in the corresponding location.

This looks inconsistent because the size in your logs is 890m, it looks like it's downloading something else. There will be no download speed display for loading models.

Very strange, when model_base_caption_capfilt_large.pth is in the BLIP folder, it still downloads, and the speed is about 100k

I have a similar situation. The first time when using, the model is downloaded. Then each time the model is loaded at a very low speed.

It isn't loading checkpoint from BLIP/model_base_caption_capfilt_large.pth.
It is downloading ViT-L-14.
Download it and put it into"~/.cache/clip".

The code reveals that unless shared.cmd_opts.clip_models_path is specified, ViT-L-14 will be downloaded to ~/./cache/clip/.
But now that it isn't placed in ~/./cache/clip/, I don't know why. Maybe you can search "ViT-L-14" on your disks to find the temporary downloaded file.
Plus, if you have multiple users on your PC, check the folders of other users. Also, check whether your stable-diffusion-webui directory has directories like ~/.cache/clip/.

I install my SD in E:/SD,and I need to to put it at ~/.cache/clip/

i have encountered the similar problem as you I think and I still haven't figured out how to solve it. i would be grateful if you could help me. I have this problem on Forge and initially installed forge in drive D, but every time I click on interrogator clip, it gets stuck on loading model_base_caption_capfilt_large.pth
